Gaslighting is a form where a person uses verbal or behavioral manner to convince another person that they are losing their mind and can not trust their judgment.

The people who do this are referred to as ‘Gaslighters.’

Gaslighting can cause mental illness. It causes these seeds of doubts to the point you’re not even sure of yourself. This can be done by any relationship, your friends, partner, family, relatives, colleagues.

Why do they do it? → To gain control over you, that’s all.

How is gaslighting done?

Below are some listed points, of course, there are 1000 more…

  1. They will tell you that people are talking behind your back and make you feel that you are doing something wrong (Even though you are not).
  2. They may say things to you and later deny ever talking about them(Blatant liars).
  3. Tell lies firmly.
  4. Their actions never match their words, and vice versa.

Getting help

  1. Avoid arguing about the truth with the abusive person (because it’s not gone help) and recognizing that you’re a victim.
  2. Involves consulting a psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, or any close person with whom you can share these feelings.
  3. Slowly learning how to manage doubts and anxiety and develop coping skills.

There you go, ready to fight with the world again back on your feet. Remember, it’s not going to be easy but not impossible.
